A BIG thank you goes out to Ty Weaver! He has helped revive the comptech site! Unfortunately the web server died over summer, and the back up and main hard drives were dead; not to mention that the GHOST back ups were MIA. We had to redo the server from scratch, and for the first time in 8 years of the CompTech's server's life, our little home on the web was gone. Luckily we were able to find some old back ups of our information and throw it into the new server's set up. Ty Weaver figured out that the version of php that we were running was not compliant with this version of Joomla, so he ended up saving the day! It'll take a little while to get all pages back up, but we will work slowly and get it done! |

Welcome to the CompTech website! Here you should be able to get all of your Computer Maintenance Technology Education information, along with other stuff such as SkillsUSA and other related news. We encourage everyone who is connected to Tech, to sign up and make an account, so that you can keep track of the information we put on this new board. As you can see, the web-site is brand new, that is because we have used a new content management system called Joomla, to build this website. Joomla is a web development kit, which allows you to organize and customize your own website, with many different features. We thank the developers of Joomla for making such an awesome program.
Thanks for stopping by, T$ |

In this day and age, reducing, reusing, and recycling is more important than ever. This is exactly what Computers for the Community promotes. Each year Tiger Robotics and SkillsUSA combine forces in an effort to help the local Bryan/College Station Community. Computers that no longer work or are outdated are brought to a location designated by the city of College Station where Tiger Robotics and SkillsUSA will examine the computers brought. Computers that are fairly new will be refurbished and given back to the community. Any computers or parts that cannot be used will be sent to a recycling plant where they are scavenged for their raw materials. Computers for the Community provides a wonderful opportunity for students at AMCHS to give back to their community. |

This year the school board has implemented a new credit system where junior and senior students that pass Computer Maintenance 1, and Computer Maintenance 2, will be able to receive dual credit with Blinn for their Computer Maintenance courses if enrolled in the Dual Credit Program. Students that already have taken Computer Maintenance before dual credit was offered, only need to receive their A+ or N+ Certifications to receive credit with Blinn College for the introductory Computer Maintenance courses. Currently the Computer Maintenance at A&M Consolidated are considered Career Pathway elective credit, while allowing 1 Technology waiver if one takes the Introduction to Computer Maintenance course all the way through the Computer Maintenance 2 Honors course. These classes are worth PE waivers, and Honors credit if you are in Tech 2. Each course is all year long, and takes up 2 class periods, except for intro, which is one class period, and a 1 semester course. |
